because of price most likely…its not only a piece of glass and plastic and metal…its also the speaker, home button and its electronics, accelerometer, and light sensor…it would probably cost as much to make on as apple would charge to fix it…that and copyright issues

well not really you could pick up the sensor node for $3.00 and the speaker and home button for about the same, the frame on the other hand… who knows!

yes but if they have it designed a certain way it would be expensive, look at the new shuffle, theres a chip in the headphones that is registered to apple so if u want to make headphones for the shuffle you have to pay them to, same with the iphone, maybe the accelerometer is apples own design, maybe the sensor was jobs idea from scratch, if anything is designed by apple and registered by them it would cost a fortune

hey i just did this to mine pretty frustrating procedure but definitely do-able… my only recommendation is when “attaching” the new digitizer to the bracket use a toothpick and weldbond.. it works way better.. i found those strips are kinda useless..

Awesome videos. Thanks! I was curious how this happens. I wish that we didn’t have to worry about it. The Insurence is almost pointless. But, at least we have nice ppl like u to help!
