   bwana,

   i live in england,
   i was wondering if you know,

   if i was to buy a iphone 3GS off of the apple website over in the us, would i be able to get it shipped over,
   and then get somebody i know to jailbreak it, and would i be able to use my orange, contract sim card in the phone afterwards?

   Yeah, if someone jailbroke it successfully, I wouldn’t see why it wouldn’t work with Orange, since it is a quad-band phone.

    jail breaking doesnt unlock it for use on other networks, unless its the 2g iphone then you can unlock at the same time as jailbreak

    I heard if you put it vertical this happens to the video screen but if you turn it horizontal it should give a full view.

    its such a solid frame-rate! what a camera….i have a question:

    1. How many megs does the iphone3gs camera use up for say 10 minutes film?

    2. what file format is the movies? mpg4, avi?

    3. Can i easily drop the films from the iphone to a pc movie editing software? i assume go into quicktime and export the movie out? or do i need a 3rd party software to export film from the iphone to pc hardrive?

    The Format is unfortunaly .MOV which I have yet to find a editing program on windows that can edit that and .AVI (what most video cameras use). Yes the videos are easily taken off and transfered to your computer. if its short enough you can email it to yourself or send it to youtube. Or what I do is use the camera wizard. I have a video test of the iphone 3g S video feature on my channel as well and it would be great if you could check it out. I also have a more extensive part 2 in the works.

    @bigben77123 for windows based machines, a good video editing software that can edit .MOV vids would be Sony Vegas………… that’s what I use……… for other video editing software compatible with .MOV files would be Corel Video Studio and Adobe Premiere…….. BTW, for the 3 software that I mentioned, u need to download and install quicktime for them to work with the .MOV files…… hope i helped……
