teathered means you have to plug your ipod/phone into the computer to “re jaibreak” everytime you swithch ur ipod off etc

That was my mistake. The 87 or 88 is irrelevant. That just indicates whether it’s black or white. Your jailbreak will be tethered.

serial numbers right:
Dude, mine is 880013 and so on…but I know mine is tethered because it has the solid back not the chrome and I bought it after Oct 19, 09. Also, if I reboot anytime after JBreakn w/ Blackra1n, its goes into recovery mode, which I re-jailbreak everytime I JB.

my serial starts out 86… not 85 or 86 or 87 or 88… does that mean anything? It is black and I just got it. It says 86002, so I”m assuming its made in 2010, and 2nd week? thanks
