   apple did a good job in protecting the screen YES, but why not the iphone chrome edges ??? They are very very extremely easy to get scatches!!!!!!!!!!!!

   It’s the back of the phone that seems to scratch the most easily. The white apple logo is destined to be scratched

    I dropt my ipod touch outside, i found it 6 month lather and it was still working, the screen was broken and there whas water under the screen but it was still working, but i got insurance so now i got 3gs and the new ipod touck:D

    The 3G S screen has crappy durability compared to the original iPhone and the 3G, apart from the coating. My 3G S got a hairline scratch for no reason while in my pocket (with nothing else) and now I use a screen protector (yes I know, defeats the purpose of the coating). On my 3G, it hasn’t got one single scratch on it and its been naked since bought.

    Very good test. Now here is the BUT…
    Every time you go over the crack you break off tiny pieces of glass, pieces that are as hard as the rest of the screen and those may be what is scratching it. Although I wouldn’t be surprised if a hardened steel knife did put some scratches on it, apple can’t be that good.
