idk if this is for iphones too but on the itouch u can press the home button twice and this menu pops up with pause/play,next song, and previous song. much easier than voice control to pause.

iphone does the samething. its ok to be jelous that u dont have an iphone
voice control is more for drivers. its designed so u can make commands such as calling someone without taking ur eyes off the road.
